Description
She sailed into our life on the arm of our mysterious Uncle Terry . She was Irish, she had stories, I found her fascinating . Uncle Terry had a checkered past. He was sort of a family secret. When he brought Aggie into our life, he was in. He went out as time went by, Trailed by a series of dark stories sticking to him like a kite string. But, when he introduced us to Aggie, he was trying to fit into the shoes of his big brother, my dad, and his efforts for normalcy produced our association with Aggie. ~Susan Wandell short story~Aggie and the Sea Captain.

Thank you Alan. I never met her but she was full of character. Here's a passage from Susie. Aggie was corny, she spoke with forties cliche, she called us "gals." She drank Manhattans. For the first decade or so, my dad would serve them up graciously, but either his weren't strong enough, or she had a fit of consciousness. Gradually, she started bringing her own Manhattans to our parties,,,she smoked incessantly. She was so unlike my delicate mother that it was fun to know someone different.
