Artist's Description

I made three trips to Miller Bluff and probably spent 10 hours up there with my 3' x 4' piece of hardboard, paints, brushes, water and cigars. I used an old two wheeler to haul everything through the rocky trail to the perch with a view. Grandad's Bluff is directly south and the view is stupendous. I even posed for a couple of photos of the unfinished work...very cool and so Monet of me. I wanted to paint it not as it looks today but before civilization came. I couldn't have done it without the cigars, the mosquitoes would have carried me away.

Then in 1994 he dipped his brush into acrylic paints and never looked back. When Richard Wandell painted he was inspired...
