There is a tree I will not see,

because I'm very far away,

and at Christmas here I'll stay.

And oh it hurts inside me so,

to think the yule will come and go...

A beautiful beginning to a beautiful poem. You'll have to wait for the rest as I'm still illustrating it! Susie wrote this gem about being away from home at Christmas and we are turning it into a book, hopefully for release next year. Susie is one of ten children, represented by the evergreens in the forefront. The twisted trees in the background symbolize conflicts and turmoil that occur in our lives daily, but they are far removed from the joy inside this quaint, warm home. The lighted tree is a family tradition and lights up on birthdays all year round. Look closely in the sky and you'll see angels watching overhead.
